Cherise Hewitt-Ogilvie has practiced law for over 20 years. She has an extensive experience in civil litigation involving construction accidents, slip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, work -related accidents, and in real estate. As a legal counsel for the judiciary in New York State Supreme Court, New York City Civil Court, and New York City Housing Court, she advised judges, researched the law, drafted decisions, negotiated settlement agreements, and prepared the jury instructions on the law. Cherise understands the hardships and challenges people face when they sustain life altering work-related injuries. Throughout her legal career, she has been committed to ensuring that litigants receive a fair and just treatment under the law. Cherise fights for her clients’ right to receive proper health care and compensation after them sustaining a work-related injury. Prior to practicing law, Cherise has worked as a High School Teacher for the NYC Department of Education. As a member of the United Federation of Teachers, she understood the importance of advocating for educators who want to help students; excel. As an attorney now, when a client’s life is disrupted due to a work-related injury, Cherise passionately works to protect their interests.
Cherise grew up in Brooklyn, NY and lives in Long Island with her two sons and her husband. She enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
