Jaspreet Kaur joined Aronova and Associates in 2018 and handles workers’ compensation matters for the firm.
The daughter of immigrants who encouraged her to pursue a career in law, Ms. Kaur is proud to blaze new trails for her family and her clients.
A chance meeting with Ester Aronova at a networking event prior to law school set Ms. Kaur on her path to becoming a workers’ compensation attorney. While attending law school, she worked as a judicial intern at the Long Island City Courthouse, externed with Edward C. Greenberg in the field of copyright law, and worked as a law clerk at 32BJ Legal Fund.
Ms. Kaur communicates complex legal concepts and terminology in everyday language to her clients to let them know what to realistically expect from their case. At the same time, she does not hesitate to go the extra mile when a client faces odds beyond what is considered “realistic” or “normal.”
For example, she represented a corrections officer who was held by prisoners in a confined area and suffered PTSD as a result. Despite being told that her client’s psychological-only claims would be disallowed, and having the claim denied initially, Ms. Kaur persisted and won on appeal, setting a new precedent for psychological-only claims.
Prior to joining Aronova & Associates, Ms. Kaur handled defense personal injury work at a Manhattan firm. She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers Association.
